Albuera, Leyte Mayor Ronald Espinosa  Sr. allegedly fought back arrest and fired at CIDG agents inside his jail cell while they were allegedly serving him a “search warrant” for “illegal possession of firearms” at 4 in the morning.

Espinosa was the first alleged narco-mayor who surrendered after Duterte released the narco-list of politicians to the media. Out of fear, he also asked his son, Kerwin to surrender as well. He exposed his son’s “illegal drug involvement” in August.

Raul Yap, another inmate allegedly also resisted arrest while being served a “warrant for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002”.
